As it is a stone’s throw from the bus and train stations, the shops are mostly eating or drinking places, but lots of shops in the nearby train station again mostly eating places including Macdonalds and Burger King but also ATM’s, banks a post office and even some souvenir shops. Well worth a look around. We also found the local Irish pub O’reilly’s sports bar about ten minutes walk away so we spent a pleasant afternoon there. They do have a good menu although the nachos we ordered were a bit overdone. But to be fair the place was packed due to the six nations rugby game and a football game was on.
Will definitely be returning to this hotel again. Although it is not a swanky modern hotel, more of a traditional hotel, it was very clean and tidy. The cooked breakfast choice did let it down a little as it was quite expensive and wasn’t too hot. But there was a good choice of the usual continental breakfast cold buffet.
