Hotel is comfortable and good value for money. Great location on Penang Rd, very central indeed. Very near to Komtar, Chowrasta market and the local shopping areas. Can shop and shop and go back to hotel to drop the bags, and then continue to shop again. Lots of makan places around the hotel also Best sekali, location is very central.

Great location! Inside the UNESCO heritage zone, lots of local eateries nearby, public transportation and other attractions. Great budget-friendly option in the heart of Penang! The hotel decor is a little dated but overall nice and clean, with comfortable beds.

Oriental Hotel is in the middle of George Town, everything there is within a walking distance, clean and neat. The front desk lady, Pheylliiezz, was welcoming and friendly and most helpful with tons of info about town. Will stay there again. Thank you very much!

light sleepers take heed

good location right near love lane. nice big room, decent bed and love the wetroom style bathroom. pack ear plugs if your a light sleeper, I was on 7th floor but music from bar outside was prominent

Accommodation value for money

Reception staff very friendly, always with a big smile and helpful. Very clean and spacious. Only setback is you have to go to the 6th floor to collect your hairdryer and flask in order to have hot water for making drinks. Bring own shampoo coz they supply bath foam only.

Good value

Very correct, everything ok, it's not luxury but a casual hotel which needs may be some refreshment a bit outdate. I would suggest to choose a room facing the harbour and the sea, opposite the main entrance because on the other side you will hear the sound boom boom boom, infra bass from the nightclub across the street 'till 2 am at least. I was there during the week so I can't say for the we.
