Good place to stay bear in mind it is not a hotel

This accomodation was clean , ultra secure and had the bonus of free wired broadband access in the room RJ45 lead is loaned to you on arrival @ no charge (speedtest showed 2.3mb download) No TV in room but I used laptop to stream TV. Other hotels I have used in the area in the past are the travelodge Dumbarton and the Erskine bridge hotel but the Queen Margaret Residences outshine both these places in terms of cleanliness security and the standard of room. Student accomodation is its principal role but it is the best student accomodation I have come across. The accomodation is like a modern tenement with 8 flats . Entry to the block is via a security door operated by your electronic key fob .You then enter the block stairway which is bright well lit and carpeted. each flat has its own door which is locked. When you enter the flat you then have your own room which is also locked . There are five bedrooms per unit, which share a large modern clean kitchen with all that you would need if you wanted to self cater .There are complimentary teas coffee etc in the kitchen for guests to use. Each room has a single bed basic bed but comfortable enough , an ensuite shower/ wc room no bath but the shower has excellent pressure and ample hot water . clean towels , soap and shower sachets also provided, There is also a games room/lounge /tv area/which is in the reception block. When you arrive you are given vouchers for a daily complimentary muffin and fruit juice a nice touch :-) Parking bays are ample and as this is a student campass / village it has security cameras covering the area .and on site security/reception at the entry point . I slept easy knowing my car was safe but to be honest the surounding area is pretty decent so no need to worry about your car and I walked back from town late at night without any concern. If you are looking for a luxurious pampered experience then go to the Ritz but if all you want is a good clean secure place to stay at a reasonable cost then i would recommend this place . If your like me and dont want to make your own breakfast there is a wetherspoons pub 1.6 ml away at Anniesland which does excellent breakfasts at reasonable cost .(opens @ 9 am )

The best economical choice in Glasgow

If your looking for a place to only rest, take a shower and leave this place is ideal for you. It is far from luxury but you expect that because it is used as a dormitory for students usually. They give you a complimentary muffin and juice and a bad with tea and coffee every day which you can prepare in the shared kitchen. In the kitchen there was a small T.V., fridge , microwave and everything else you would find in a normal kitchen and everything was clean. If you have a laptop then i suggest you bring it to entertain yourself because there are no sources of entertainment in the rooms, but there is a big desk and electricity sockets all around the room. To get to the nearest station it is a 10-15 minute walk but you can cross through the botanical gardens where you will forget about time anyways because of the nice atmosphere of children playing and people just passing time sitting, relaxing and socializing. Check in and check out was easy and the buildings have a security system where you have to press the key up to the device to open the main door. In summary, if your looking for a place to sleep wash up and leave then this place is ideal for its price. I myself enjoy luxury but i am never in the hotel anyways so i found it pointless to pay double the price for a 5 star hotel.

Good Value

My particular room was a bit tatty decoratively but the halls were clean and modern. Considering the price, the lovely edwardian area, the nearby Botanic Gardens and the good level of service I would reccomend it to anyone. Well pleased.

Good, economic place to stay in Glasgow

This hotel is associated with the University. I guess the room (or parts of the rooms) rented is/are occupied by students during the semester. The staff at the desk (I guess students) is extremely friendly and helpful. The room is maintained very clean, has a private bath room, and there is access to a kitchen with facilities like refrigerator, stove, microwave, silverware, etc. The hotel is 5-10 minutes walking distance from the next underground/bus station/store, and 30-40 minutes to the city center.
