Tucked between rainforest-covered mountains and Golfo Dulce's blue waters, this former banana port offers exceptional sport fishing and wildlife watching opportunities. Kayak through the sheltered gulf to spot dolphins, or arrange guided tours into nearby Piedras Blancas National Park where scarlet macaws and howler monkeys thrive.
Fabulous stay - luxurious, delicious fresh cooked meals, wonderful setting and wildlife, particularly birds and butterflies. Staff all very welcoming, knowledgeable tour guides. Real focus on eco tourism and sustainability.

This is one of the most special places I have ever visited. The location was just beautiful and going to sleep and waking up to the sounds of the Pacific (and monkeys playing in the trees outside the cabin!) was amazing. The food was fantastic and extremely plentiful - you definitely won't go hungry here! The staff were really friendly and helpful and seemed to genuinely love their jobs and spending time talking to guests (thanks especially to Paula). The only things I can fault are that 1.there...

The lodge is beautifully designed, open plan, wooden construction, cottages set in the forest open to the sights and sounds. The food is lovely. There are a range of public spaces and well made trails into primary forest giving several kilometres of walking. We saw frogs, leaf cutter ants, turtles, monkeys, butterflies, toucans, hummingbirds and much more. The staff are knowledgable. The lodge is owned and run by a family committed to protecting and restoring the forest and run the Lodge in a...

We arrived to a very warm welcome from the family who owned the lodge. Our bags were taken to our cabin while we had lunch (all meals were included) and then we were shown to the cabin from where we had fantastic views of the Pacific.
The lodge is situated in a beautiful jungle estate with walking trails which enabled us to see some amazing wildlife but it is only a five minute walk from the beach and there is excellent surfing nearby. There is a very knowledgeable guide available to take you...

It may be important to know there is no bar or alcohol available at the biological station. Bring your own booze, or there’s a good bar/restaurant about a quarter of a mile away on the road back towards San Vito.
