"Room was generally clean and tidy. Cracked floor tile in bathroom with water stains to the wall. Showering… no hot water!!! Had to leave the hot tap running over the basin to get any warm water through the shower. Bedroom was cold, thermostat would not work to increase the warmth of the bedroom. Breakfast was massively overpriced so walked into town for breakfast. Bed was comfortable. Staff friendly."

"Hotel was nice. Check in was quick and easy with helpful staff. Restaurant was ok- quite an expensive menu (2 pasta meals and 2 drinks were £50) but it was ok Rooms were comfortable with everything needed for an overnight stay. I would recommend and would happily stay again"

"Very friendly helpful staff, excellent location and lovely views of the Cathedral. Our room was clean and bed was comfortable but a view general maintenance jobs made it look a little tired. Edge of windowsill had fallen off and the surface of the bath had seen better days. Coupled with worn furniture and a balcony which needed a good clean lowered the quality of what could have been a five Star stay."

"I loved my 'mini-break' at The Hex Hotel. I was combining a day at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park and meeting up with various family members who lived near Rossington, so a 2-night stay was arranged. On both evenings I treated cousins to a meal at the restaurant, and the food was delicious, the staff were attentive and friendly. Also had breakfast there each morning, which was tasty and plenty of choice provided. The hotel room was so comfortable and roomy, and the bathroom had both a bath and a shower. I was also lucky and was upgraded to a room with a balcony. There's loads of parking, but it is a bit of a walk from there to the hotel reception area, then a further walk to the actual hotel. I can highly recommend a stay here. I'll definitely be booking again."

"Hotel is in a lovely location. When we arrived in the morning there was plenty of spaces in the car park, although by checking in time it was almost full. The staff on reception were very friendly. Our room was very spacious with 2 double beds and 2 chairs. The only issue I had was with the lighting, there were plenty of lamps but no ceiling lights so the room wasn’t as bright as I would like. The bar area was lovely and again the staff were very friendly. We were unable to book the breakfast when we booked the room, so chose to go to the Harvester next door instead, which was very nice and good value."

"The first night was noisy a car came into car park at 2am and was blasting music out and guest or two banging doors and knocking on door The second night was better. Only a two night stay for an event. Housekeeping on Saturday did not replace complimentary tea and coffee bin not emptied and beds not straightened up after 1st night. It's basic no thrills hotel. Also lift out of order."

"I arrived at the hotel after a long and stressful day, only to find I’d booked myself in on the wrong day. Cassie and her male colleague on the front desk were lovely and so friendly. And they managed to get my booking changed so I could stay that night which was a relief. The hotel itself is lovely, clean, modern and brand new but the staff are exceptional. I will definitely be back."
