Chantal is awesome. The room was cozy and a good balance of modern and medieval. The bed was the most comfy one we had on our trip so far. My wife was thrilled with the whole experience.

The stay was nice. It's a rustic unique location which was right on this small street which which is before the castle. Initial contact with the host who ran it like a deskless B&B was good. There was incomplete entrance instructions but nothing that was an inconvenience. The host was around the property and kept referring to a time to come in or visit but I was not exactly sure why. All was good until promptly before checkout she emailed asking for payment about $400 us and a small city tax which was a standard thing. I knew I had paid, found the receipt of payment 7 months previously and I knew I had paid and that you can't make a reservation without doing so. She quickly confirmed it was paid but said she had issued with Expedia. Though I have never known a property to give you the Keys without the payment in full. A red flag went up to weather or not she was pulling a scam and that others could have fallen for it. Since she wanted cash and the only cash machine in this small town had a big fee. So I ended up not getting the amount of the city tax right. I wish I knew the truth but I didn't get to 62 without listening to my instincts. Long story short and not for just that reason I wouldn't stay there again, even though it was a cute place.

Alittle disappointed, what was shown online was not even in the same building. Tiny apt. With double cylinder deadbolts on 2 doors to exit building and no smoke detector in room. Owner only accepted cash for room instead- beware ATM Charges another 15% That said, great location, and owner was nice. Ok for one or two nights.

This was the most magnificent stay I could have ever imagined. Close to everything in Gruyères with a gorgeous view and wonderful front patio. Chantal is a wonderful host and has excellent recommendations for meals and shopping. I would highly recommend staying here!

Gruyeres is a quaint ancient village. Chantal was a gracious hostess. Our room was cozy and cute. We had a lovely view of the mountains and the battlements of the village. The castle was very interesting. The HR Rigger bar of bones is a must to have a drink.

It would be hard to overstate how beautiful Gruyères is, and how absolutely perfect Chantel’s property is. With 2 foot thick walls that date back to the 1300’s and massive ceiling beams, the room is snug, comfortable, safe, and the view out the open window toward the Alps is truly amazing. We arrived late, the day-trippers had left and Gruyères was quiet on a lovely April evening, the sun setting in the ancient town and on the snowy peaks. Kind neighbors helped us find the key to the house. The restaurant next door provided delicious traditional dinner (cheese fondue, meringue, double cream) and breakfast (croissant, cheese, terrific coffee). The next morning, Chantel’s partner gave us a tour of the careful historical restoration they are doing in the rest of the house, 800 years of history revealed, respected, celebrated. It would be hard to overstate how perfect, quiet and amazing it all was. Truly one of life’s shining jewels. 11/10.

Présentation abusive.

La propriétaire n'a pas transmis le code bien que l'on ait téléphoné 48 h avant notre arrivée. Nous avons dû attendre plus d'une demie heure avant qu'elle ne réponde au téléphone. Chambre petite (guère plus de 9 m2), pas de télévision, pas de petit déjeuner pour 209 CHF ! Vue sur les montagnes à travers 2 petites fenêtres avec croisillons de 35 x 70 cm. Il n'y a pas de Balcon si ce n'est pour aller à la salle de bain !

Great Stay in Gruyeres

Excellent location right in the heart of the village with convenient access to stores, restaurants and the major sights including the Chateau de Gruyeres and the Maison de Gruyere. The room was gorgeously decorated and located in a 14th century building that is well renovated and comfortable. Chantal is a wonderful and caring hostess and we really enjoyed meeting her. We will certainly be back!

Todo un privilegio hospedarnos en este alojamiento cuidado con mimo por su encantadora propietaria Chantal .Un regalo a los sentidos amanecer con las vistas a la colina desde la ventana de la habitación, escuchar los sonidos de los cencerros y el campanario ,percibir los aromas de la deliciosa fondue al atardecer, impregnarte de la esencia de un bello pueblo suizo de cuento con castillo incluido sin tener que renunciar a la modernidad "sorprendente " del museo H.R. Giger dónde la ficción y lo fantástico conviven a pocos metros .

Très agréable week-end au soleil de Gruyeres

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans cet appartement où nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis. Confortable, propre, très bien équipé et en plein centre du village, à 2 pas du château et des restaurants, cet endroit est parfait pour un week-end ou un séjour à Gruyeres et les environs.

Ein richtiges Bijou für Ferien und auch für Busine

Perfekte Häuslichkeit in einer aussergewöhnlichen und sehr schönen Umgebung. Mitten im Burgstädtchen von Gruyere. Die Besitzerin ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Sehr empfehlenswert.
