"Breakfast had an amazing selection from freshly cooked eggs to juices to a huge selection of desserts. The pool area is good. The hotel feels like it’s on a highway but it was convenient for a one night stay before heading to Paraty. Our friends stayed in the same hotel prior to their flight to the Amazon and they said the hotel accommodated them to check out late and hang out at the hotel until their night time flight. I would definitely recommend!"

"Hotel was great , best breakfast so far and close to beach. The ocean is intense so be careful . The front desk staff was a bit off in the beginning but then one of them made it up. I did have to uber to activities and this hotel feels like it’s on its own side of Rio. Hotel was great, keep in mind is one towel for the pool per day that was the only 👎. I went to the beach then had a sandy towel and rinsed off and wanted the a new towel for the pool and I was denied a new towel . With a hotel that fancy I don’t see how they monitor that. Great place , room service was excellent. Overall the stay was great we were able to get an upgrade with ocean view."

"I had an oceanfront room and this was an exceptional stay. From the check in assistance by Julia at the front desk, to Gustavo at my check out, I had an amazing stay at Grand Hyatt for 4 days and I'd definitely be back here again. I am very sensitive to noise and even though the oceanfront room is by the avenue, the soundproofing of the balcony door was so superb, once you close it, the whole noise of the outer world is away from you. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was spacious and so was the room, giving me plenty of space to move in it comfortably. The housekeeping was incredible, I am already a very tidy person but when I came back to my room, their touch made things even better than I expected. I loved the fact that the portion of the ocean this hotel sees is much more calmer than most beaches of Rio. I also stopped by Canto for lunch once and a drink when I checked out, and the server Monique was very helpful and warm. Overall, it's been a great experience for me. I was a solo, woman traveller. Would highly recommend this place to anyone interested."

"This is a 3 star hotel, not the 4. Hallway cleanliness was below 4 star expectations. Our shower had black mold in the grout. Mold was also where we had to hang the towels on the hooks on the wall. Breakfast was ok, too many breads that taste the same, eggs were below average. Only fruit and yogurt saved breakfast. Pool - grout had mold, so I did not even swim. Beds we comfortable and clean sheets we changed daily. That was good. Location is good, beach is close."
