"The location is very peaceful indeed, and we found our Japanese room very comfortable. Options for breakfast were a bit limited. Nice to be able to book the ofuro but the schedule is a bit too restrictive (5-10 p.m. only). Overall a nice place to stay and good value for money."

"A lovely Japanese inn with incredible food, comfortable bedding and wonderful hospitality. We spent two of our week long Yamaguchi prefecture trip at Hagi no Yado Tomoe and we were very happy with our choice. Evening meals presented in our room were exceptional. It was a traditional Japanese ryokan meal but with some western style interpretations. "Staff were very kind. The Kaiseki dinner was superb. Although we did not use the public bath, the private bath reserved was great and our bodies felt less sore after a long dip. "

"This is an old school honestly, but with nicely separated living spaces (shred bathrooms). Not squeaky clean, and a bit outdated…but human and not without charm. The owner is a super courteous dude. You may need a car as it is a few kilometers 40 minute walk from the train station. The payoff is the silence and chill vibes out here. I enjoyed my stay. "
