A beautiful hotel with excellent service. Rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. Buffet breakfast was amazing. Easy to get into town using the electric taxi.

Gorgeous hotel in a great setting. Beautifully designed rooms and common spaces. Great value in terms of comfort. Stunning views from all the rooms. Lots of options for lounging outdoors or in the room, and a nice quiet beach right next to the hotel. We loved the furnishings, tile, and art.

Beautiful hotel location

Luxurious hotel on South end of cat ba. Nice rooms, fantastic view. Breakfast spread was amazing and full of variety. Pools were really nice. Incredible for sunset views. 10 minute walk to main town

Beautiful location amongst the karsks

We were upgraded to a beautiful suite. Incredible views from our room & balcony. We even saw some wild goats. Nice walk to town and around the bend. Everyone very helpful and friendly. Great deal of major construction going on in town & in the waterfront in front of the hotel….but it was OK…..even interesting to watch. Enjoyed our morning breakfast every day. Beautiful location amongst the karsks.

This is a gorgeous hotel and perfect for peace and quiet and relaxation. The food in the restaurant is a bit hit or miss but there are other good options not too far away. The views from the bedrooms are unparalleled.

The food at Akoya is much better than that of Indochine (with the exception of breakfast). The pool is excellent, and the resort is clean and well managed. The neighboring beach is not (as it is public). The music is loud, there is constantly a large number of people there, and the beach itself is dirty. Besides that, it was a great stay.

Jacuzzi does not actually heat up and the breakfast gave me food poisoning. Everything else was great. Breakfast was incredible aside from food poisoning. Maybe worth it.

We loved this hotel. It's beautiful to look and at the rooms, overlooking the beach are picturesque. The pools are lovely and it is right next to the beach. It's easy to get into town using the electric buses and we were able to book transport to the airport with their staff, who were always friendly. The restaurant is quite mediocre though. You're better off going into town and getting good there. The cold jacuzzi was also weird and the spa facilities weren't available for a while (about 45 minutes) even though it was passed 3pm and they were supposed to be open.

The property is beautiful and in the off season the price was reasonable. The breakfast is over the top, lots of choices. The coffee was the only breakfast issue and the staff needs to be trained in this area, it was often cold or prepared improperly. The beach is wonderful but the area behind the lounges needs to be cleaned, it looked terrible. The construction on the port side was super loud and created industrial smell that was unpleasant. Because of that the pool on the construction side was not usable. I believe all these issues will be resolved once the construction is completed and we enjoyed our stay regardless.

Cute boutique hotel!

We recently stayed at this hotel with our two young kids (3 and 1 years old), and despite the challenges of traveling with little ones, this place was fantastic. The hotel was incredibly clean and had a charming, cute atmosphere. The staff were also amazing—very friendly and helpful, with most of them speaking English, which made everything so much easier. The beach was a bit disappointing as it was quite dirty, but the swimming pools more than made up for it—they were awesome! The views from the hotel were stunning, and we really enjoyed the food. The breakfast buffet was especially great, with plenty of delicious options to start the day. One thing that was a bit concerning was the hotel-arranged driver to take us back to Hanoi airport. Unfortunately, the experience was awful. The driver didn’t speak any English, and we were genuinely scared as he kept falling asleep at the wheel. It was a very unnerving experience, and I would expect the hotel to organise a more professional driver, at the very least one with a basic level of English. Overall, though, we had a great stay, and the hotel was lovely but I’d suggest organizing transport independently next time.

We booked this Hotel to rest a couple days from 4 week road-trip traveling Vietnam. Looking for a luxury and peaceful place we realized there are not a lot options on Cat Ba Island. When we arrived, the hotel’s lobby immediately caught us with its colonial french design. High quality interiors from the lobby to the rooms to the roof-top. Amazing breakfast buffet with soup and egg station, warm and cold station, fruit and desert, crepe station - what ever you can think of, you‘ll get it. Same applies for lunch and dinner - fresh seefood, western cuisine and asian specialties. When you are a wine lover, the wine menu definitely beats everthing what we have seen during our 4 week road trip. Staff is always attentive, helpful and you always get a smile. The beach was cleaned daily from debris that occasionally found its way to the bay. All in all we found what we were looking for - a luxury hide-away. We stayed during off-season, so things will get busier during high-season but I am sure they will handle this as well. Cheers to the management and staff. We will keep the sundowners at the pool bar right on the shore in mind.
