Good: Nice location, right across the street from Gora Park, 10 minute walk up the hill from train station. Room was very comfortable, good size, awesome private onsen on the balcony, divided into several partitions with sliding doors. Friendly service. Comfortable lobby sitting area with free refreshments and massage chairs. Quiet.
Not so good:
The public (hotel guests only) onsen on the ground floor were old and in need of refurbishment, cracked and broken wall tiles. Room TV had dozens of channels but all Japanese, not a single international channel. Dinner and breakfast were okay, but disappointing for price paid. We paid USD420 for one night, 2 guests, and expected a more elaborate dining experience. Printed, not handwritten, menu. Kitchen open to the dining room, with associated noises. Western, no Japanese-style, tables. Only 3 parking spaces in garage, first-come-first-served.
Summary:
Property is on the older side and facilities need refurbishment. Overpriced for what it offers. Have been to other onsens/ryokan where the experience was much more in line with price paid.
