Buckland B & B Matamata

This was like a studio, comfy bed, good size bathroom, great shower, small shampoo, body wash supplied. Continental breakfast supplied,. Good comfortable modern B&B for a nights stay.

Really pleased we chose this BnB. Lovely rural location but still only 5 or10 min from Matamata. Plenty of space and a super comfy bed! Recommended.

I have given this property an excellent rating, because the owners have been very understanding regarding the cancellation we had to make, due to our area being put into Covid lock-down the night before our booking. So we could not travel. We were not given any short notice penalty cancellation fee. We will certainly be re-booking in the future.

The property was modern, clean and tidy. Short drive from Hobbiton. Quiet and beautiful atmosphere, fresh baked bread for the morning. Tracey was absolutely lovely and would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thanks so much :)

This was the first B&B that I have stayed in. If I ever come back to New Zealand I will definitely stay here again. I felt right at home and the homemade bread was everything I had read about. Delicious!!! I cannot recommend this enough.

Si tratta di un monolocale singolo all'interno del ranch in qui abitano i proprietari, ma a una certa distanza e pienamente indipendente. Arredato con gusto, spazioso, pulito, con un patio coperto e con quei tocchi in piú da cui si vede che è parte di "casa loro" . Colazione OTTIMA autogestita in camera, è presente tutto il necessario e la padrona ci ha portato il pane fresco la sera prima. Il circondario è un'oasi di silenzio e colline a pascolo, vicinissimo (in auto) a Hobbiton.

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt

Hervorragende Lage wenn man am nächsten Tag das Hobbiton Movie Et besuchen möchte, es sind nur 5 Minuten. Das Zimmer befindet sich in einer Farm, es gibt eine Katze und man bekommt frisches Brot. Frühstück muss man selbst machen, ist aber kein Problem. Zimmer war sehr schön und gemütlich, es gibt auch eine Heizung im Bad.

Wonderful stay

Buckland BnB was the perfect location for our one-night stay in Matamata on our honeymoon. We did the Hobbit banquet feast and the place is so close that getting to and from the Shire was a breeze (thanks in large part to our kind host!). The fresh baked bread in the morning was amazing, and the room was clean and comfortable. The landscape is also simply lovely -- right in the middle of sheep country! We loved our stay.

Very good experience

The room is clean and new, surrounding of the room are sheep, cow, horse, very green farm, flowers, trees and the cat, that is amazing ! Just few mins to Hobbiton village, cannot be better anymore.

Warm and Welcoming

A wonderful stay. Such a warm environment and a very friendly host. Parking was easy, great wifi, large bathroom, open space to spread out, a nice garden area to relax and sip some tea.

Quiet, rural property on the outskirts of Matamata close to The Hobbiton movie Set. Everything we needed for a night stay was there for us. Lovely big bathroom and open plan bed / kitchen area. Host baked fresh bread for our breakfast. Heat pump, warm blankets and sky available too. Room was nicely designed also.

Great stay at this gem of a property. The host was extremely friendly and I really appreciated the loaf of homemade bread she dropped off the night before for breakfast the next morning. I highly recommend staying at this property and it’s a great launching point if you’re planning to visit the local area, especially Hobbiton.

It was a great place to stay if you want to experience the rolling hills of Matamata. The owners are friendly and are willing to help you in any way. The location is a bit far from downtown but the views and room make up for that.
