"Lovely property in central village location"

"There actually was not a breakfast. However, the hotel includes a charming pub where we enjoyed an excellent pub lunch. As a whole we very much enjoyed the White Horse Inn. Our room seemed a little small and we shared a bathroom. We did find a restaurant within a short walking distance where we enjoyed breakfast. "

"The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The location is ideal and well connected, being only a couple of minutes walk from the train station. My only real "issue" - and it's barely an issue was that the room was very hot but the staff immediately provided fans on request. I would go again and would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget."

"This property is in disrepair and is not being maintained. One part of the floor is sinking and propped by loose boards. There is an overall smell of mildew/mold throughout the place, and most of the surfaces need a good cleaning. In the bathroom the shower tap is rigged so that you cannot increase the temperature past a moderate level, and the shower door is falling off the frame. I also came across many spiders. "

"The room was OK, but finding the hotel and finding the room within the hotel were both very difficult. They also asked for an additional card checking fee before check-in, though thankfully they waived this when we queried it. The remote check in made the start of the stay very stressful, but once we were in it was fine. There are some lovely period features in the property, but some of the paneling is actually wallpaper!"

"The only things nice is how close is to the sea side, need to be careful for any extra charges, thankfully my bank didn’t let the transaction go through and sent me a new card, but still was able to stay without paying those charges (almost £140)"

"It’s our second time staying at the Doubletree in Brighton. Whilst our room was great, large, and had a huge bed, it did unfortunately stink of stale cigarettes. I don’t think the room should have been assigned to guests unless it had been aired for a few days. In saying that, I know that this hotel is usually perfection so wouldn’t hesitate to stay again! Breakfast was amazing and in a beautiful room too."

"Was horrified at the external state of building. Couldn’t get access to the building, there were building works going on alongside so I left and found somewhere decent to stay. "
