Good place for visiting Hadrian's Wall

Very comfortable with ample space for parking. Food in the bar was good and an adequate selection of wine . There is also a restaurant but did not try that. Generally all round very good hotel with helpful friendly staff.

Climbing flowers and beautiful decor welcomed us at this lovely inn along our walk across England on Hadrian's Wall. I especially loved all the doggy decor! We appreciated that they had a table ready for our group in the bar. The food was outstanding and the service excellent!

Nice friendly hotel.Good breakfast. Stayed in for evening meal as well which was really nice and good value,more than we could finish, no fancy drizzling here thankfully ! Only a short diversion from Hadrian's Wall path.

Delightful Two day break

Very friendly little hotel. Spotlessly clean with extremely comfortable bed. Excellent food and good selection of beer and wine at reasonable prices . Ideally situated for visiting Hadrians Wall and other attractions.

The Hadrian bedrooms have been renovated to a high standard recently with the public areas due for the same treatment soon,I believe. Good food, excellent service from the team and a super atmosphere.

Easily found, welcoming, and catering for walkers (and their dogs) in particular, with drying facilities etc. I am not a serious walker, but I appreciate the facilities. My room was spacious, with en-suite and great views. Needless to say my wife and I both slept well. Food is largely local, well cooked and presented. I certainly plan to stay there again when seeing more of the area.

Really comfortable hotel near to the Hadrian's Wall Path. Very friendly staff who went above and beyond to help us.

Excellent pub, good accommodation, & craft beer.

Our room was at the top of 2 flights of stairs but the room more than made up for the climb. It was very clean and airy with large ceiling windows in both the bedroom & the large bathroom. Dinner menu was interesting & food quality very good. Wine list was good & they had excellent craft beer from nearby brewery. Bed mattress was too soft for me but probably excellent for others. The village is small and pretty and it is very close to Hadrian's wall. Walkers should note that there is no shop nearby to get lunch makings. However the Hotel will prepare a lunch bag for you.

Hadrian’s Wall

Wonderful little spot in the tiny village of Wall. Great friendly staff, beautiful well appointed rooms, so glad to finally be able to make a nice coffee. Cosy bar downstairs with excellent dinner menu and beautifully presented meals. Highly recommended.

Another chance here

Although my room was clean and comfortable there was no way I could sleep with the noise from the plumbing, I realise the hotel is going through a refurbishment so I would not be to upset about it, staff were friendly and helpfull, I would probably stay again once it has been refurbished , I didn't eat at hotel but for wagtail I seen the food looked good and was presented on the plates excellently

Great food. Away from Hexham.

Check in was delayed due to room cleaning being contracted out. Do not expect to arrive prior to 4:30pm, and check in at the bar on the right when you enter (not well marked). Staff appear blase. However, the food is amazing, and the kitchen was very accommodating to dietary restrictions for our dinner. The included breakfast is very comprehensive, as well as delicious! The room is spacious. Shower had poor temperature control and was mouldy. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, including the AD122 Hadrians wall bus! Or, about a 35 minute walk to Chesters Roman Fort with some other Hadrians wall sight stops along the route.

This was not the hotel as had been shown on the internet. It was shabby and run down. Renovations and refurbishments may well have begun under the new management, but we did not experience any of it. It is misleading to advertise a hotel describing how it may well appear in the future.

The staff and food were amazing! Our room was clean with new bed curtains etc. The hotel is going through some renovations and once completed will make a huge difference. We would go back no problem!
