Residence Hotel Takayama Station

"Extremely large room, fully equipped with a kitchen, dining area and washer/dryer. Room had a balcony with a great view of the city and mountains. In unit laundry was great, but note that a single load would take hours to wash and dry. Staff was friendly and very professional and polite. Check in/out was smooth, quick and seamless. Hotel conveniently located right next to the Takayama bus station, and within walking distance to attractions like Miyagawa market, Showa-kan museum, etc. Family Mart and 711 nearby along with many restaurants."

"Stayed here one night on the way up the Alpine route. Everything was just perfect here, from the excellent breakfast spread, onsen facilities, the wellkept grounds to the warm hospitable service at the front desk. Wish I’d spent a few more days here to relax."

"Excellent location. Very close to the station and places to visit. Very clean and excellent service and attention. The only downsides are the uncomfortable beds and no laundry service. Otherwise, excellent."

"Here’s a balanced 4-star review that sounds fair and helpful: We had a pleasant stay overall and really appreciated the traditional ryokan experience. The staff were kind, the property was clean, and the breakfast was beautifully presented. That said, there were a few things that made it a 4-star stay rather than a 5-star one. I should have researched the location and amenities more carefully, but I was surprised that the surroundings weren’t particularly scenic. There is no garden to enjoy, no view from the room, and no view from the breakfast restaurant, which made the experience feel less special than I expected. The onsen was also much hotter than I’m used to, making it difficult to stay in for more than a few minutes. Finally, the futon mattresses were quite firm and not especially comfortable for sleeping. Overall, it’s a good place if you’re looking for a traditional ryokan experience, but I would recommend checking the location and facilities carefully to make sure they match your expectations."
Toyama Manten Hotel

"Breakfast meals were top notch with local specialties to try. The meals were the same daily. The rooms were decent and clean but basic wear and tear showing in some areas. The onsen was clean HOWEVER the photos with the nice onsen with multiple pools and sweeping views is ONLY the men’s side. The women’s side is accessible via a code that changes daily (get the code from the front desk daily). There is only one pool, no view, 6 wash stations or so and a shower. Generally not busy or full ever. But disappointing the women’s side didn’t have a similar experience with multiple pools or views."
Hida Takayama Onsen Takayama Green Hotel (KEIO GROUP HOTELS)

"Room was very nice and spacious and feels luxurious and comfortable. Buffets were nice and had a lot of selections. I was not overly impressed with the Hida beef but it is a personal choice thing. Staff is mostly young friendly gracious people. Buffets are a combination of Japanese and western cuisine. Gift shop is very big. Would stay here again "
TOKYU STAY Hida-Takayama Musubi no Yu

"The location is just superb, next to Takayama station. Washer/dryer provided in the room is so convenient for doing our own laundry. Staffs are really helpful and friendly. The only drawback for us is that the room is a bit dusty when we first checked in, they didn’t vacuum and clean properly before; I can actually see the layer of dust on the chair and table provided in the room."

"We did not use their amenities or breakfast. But they don't supplies morning in room instant coffee after the first night stayed. They have afternoon drinks between 3 to 7 pm, nothing special not even beer."
