"The breakfast included was fresh and filling with local foods included. They still took time to best explain everything even with the language barrier. The staff was helpful and from the private onsen to the room, everything was very clean. Very close to the town center without the possible noise and foot traffic if it was any closer. I would stay here again and recommend to my friends and family."

"Uotoshi is remarkable value for money and is also unique. The owner is very welcoming with great English. The Ryokan is older and somewhat rundown but it is also a community hub that has sing along classes for local kids (Rudolph the red nose reindeer in Japanese is awesome) and have fun with English nights. There is a Kyudo (Japanese archery) range behind the Ryokan which has classes taught by the owner as well as area competitions. Breakfast was varied and very tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed...

"Very clean rooms and hotel, reality matched the online photos and staff were very helpful. Shocked to find the surrounding community has totally shut down, so staying on the mountainside at the hotel is isolated, albeit beautiful."
