Red Roof Inn & Conference Center Chicago - Aurora/ Fox Valley
6/10 Okay
"Room was clean. Soap dispensers were empty. Check in and out talking to a kiosk was weird. Had to go to my car twice. First to get license plate and then to put the parking printout on dash. Very inconvenient. There was a woman behind counter. Why does check in process happen with filipino help desk?"
"We purchased trip insurance for this stay and later due to circumstances tried to cancel our reservation but were denied. We will never use Expedia again"
"I showed up and was told they had no rooms available. I had to then get another hotel room and they denied me a refund when they themselves overbooked their own hotel"
"Bed was comfy & room was clean, but the bathroom could have been cleaned a little better. Staff were nice, just not as welcoming as I would’ve hoped. Breakfast wasn’t the best here, however it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had. Overall, the stay went well & I would recommend."
"Wasn't pleased with random items for trash under one bed, but the other was clean. some spots on the blankets as sheets possibly stain. We also noticed the bathroom needed updating. Toilet tank lid was broken/cracked. Walls in the room and hallway were also heavily cracking."
"I believe the girl I spoke with was new. Either busy or just didn't care. We were attending a visitation. I asked if our driving time got us there before 3:00 could we check in. Abruptly she said '40.00' You have got to be kidding. The Manager told me this morning we could check in an hour early at no charge!
We went on to the visitation at 2:00, left early, arrived back at the Hotel at 3:15. She told us the rooms are first come first serve. When we got there, there was no parking. How does a parking lot get full in 15 minutes from check in time? We were the 3rd couple in line. She was on the phone. No one to help.
The rooms are totally outdated with pine furniture that look homemade. The room smelled like Clorox or bleach from the towels and bedding. Love the crisp sheets. The curtains were sun rotted. There were tears in the fabric. That's ok. Everything was clean. Carpet pretty clean. I wore soaks. The toilets are maybe 14" and no bars to hold on to!! Maybe an accessible room would work. We have stayed there before. It's convenient to everything. Maybe it might not have been such a tense start if I had not spoken to this person 3 times. There was no clarity with her. And going to a visitation doesn't help the nerves. Yes we will stay again but next time I will ask for Mr. Patel."
"I was not made aware the pool was down for maintenance even after chatting with the front desk clerk and I were talking about me taking my 6 year old the next morning. VERY DISAPPOINTED. The walls were being repainted which was nice to see some improvement. The carpet is lifting all over the place. It’s cool that it is solar powered. The beds are hard and aren’t stable. The pillows aren’t comfortable. The free breakfast was decent for being free. However, the place was empty and it was kinda creepy because of it. There were little things that need replacing, but I’m sure with updates it will be taken care of. The heating unit is hard to figure out. Oh and there was something very sticky and gross on the window sill. We might go back if the pool is available, but without that and it being the only thing to entertain my child, it will be a deal breaker!! The best price for a facility like this is the Expedia price because their website is excessively over priced. "
