Chateau Hluboká

This castle is considered as one of the most beautiful in Czech republic. Originally a gothic Royal castle built in 13th century during reign of king Premysl Otakar II, rebuilt in rennaisance and baroque style until getting its current Neogothic appearance from 1841-71 after Windsor castle example. The Neogothic Chateau belonged to Counts of Schwarzenberg until 1947 when it was confiscated and nationalized. There is a nice big surrounding English park. The chateau is opened to public and counts as one of the most visited in our country.

"An excellent location to stay in this tourist town. Quiet and only a 15 minute walk to the castle/tourist area ( the wlak to the castle/tourist area is down a hill, and the hill is not tjat steep to walk back up....the hill is only a 5 minute walk).
