Stayed at the Woodland lodge on Saturday night, as I was going to a family party. On the the room was meant to be available from 3pm, but was actually available at midday which was brilliant.
On arrival I found the place was clean and tidy. There was a fridge which I wasn’t expecting which is perfect in the summer for keep drinks cold. Bed was very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep
Would definitely stay here again

Twas ok
Staff were great, location is nice with good walks nearby. Room smelt funny, sink was blocked and furniture a bit broken though. Shame. Not bad, but not great
On arrival the lodge was freezing (8degrees). Bad musty smell. Not cleaned sufficiently - someone’s underwear and a blade left on top of wardrobe and marked bedding. We were given an extra heater from another room by a cleaner to help heat the room.
There is no one on site and it is in the middle of nowhere. We feel misled as usually at a b&b there is someone available on site and this is nit the case at this property. Any other day we would have gone elsewhere and not paid but on New Years Eve thus was not an option

Good value, a little bit scary to find in the dark
Good bits - inexpensive, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, chocolate. Shower worked well. Room quite cute.
Not so good bits - room initially freezing cold, bed not that comfy, walls paper thin and could hear TV next door at night, couldn't tell if door was locked or not when inside. Pathway and sign to find the place could be better lit at night.
Julie (the owner) is absolutely incredible! She did absolutely fantastically with everything we requested. The only difficult aspects were that the wi-fi cut out now and then, also that it takes a cab or rental car to get anywhere. The cleanliness and peace and walking trails made up for it though! I will definitely go here again.

Located in a peaceful woodland near (20min walk to) the town centre. You get to wake up with the sound of birds around. However, there were spiders inside the lodge which freaked the hell out of us. Just outside the lodge were chairs and table which would have been a perfect place to chill after a day's activities if only they're kept clean and not covered in cobwebs. The lodge was equipped with a TV, a kettle, microwave, a cooler (which didn't work at all during our stay) and a set of plates and cutlery. I booked for a double room and was expecting to have a double bed (maybe i missed some info during booking, it could be my mistake) but instead we had 2 wobbly single beds just placed next to each other... and a couple of flat pillows for each bed.
I stayed for 1 night. They send you a text with instructions for how to get in, which works well.
It is a long way along Lord Street so not convenient for the town if you don't have a car. The room was comfortable and warm on a very cold night. Little things were missing, tea and coffee is provided and a fridge, but no spoon. There were only 3 hangers in the wardrobe. The wifi was weak but I was able to use 4g phone signal. I would be happy to go back again.

Small improvements, easy to make, are needed
The road leading up to the rooms is filled with holes - and has been so for years. It would be good to have napkins or paper towels with the breakfast. The refrigerator really needs to be de-iced. Otherwise fine, we have stayed there a number of times.
