"Great breakfast and very clean room"

"Herring House is a great place to stay--I enjoyed it immensely. I booked one of the cabins which included access to an outdoor shower. Although somewhat skeptical, the proprietor, Helga, convinced me to give it a try. Glad I did--truly an amazing experience even though the temperature was a little above freezing. The accommodation was extremely clean and ideally situated with restaurants within easy walking distance. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Siglufjörður."

"beautiful place to stay overlooking a valley. so clean. comfy beds. full use of a kitchen and living room. friendly staff who even brought some food for us as it’s a ways from town. hot tub. two huge bathrooms for use. very nice place to stay."

"Bit of a hole in the wall. Expected a microwave/fridge in room but was communal. The communal area was in a bit of a state of shock. Room was on the small side and not much natural light. "

"Very friendly hotel. Lovely Scottish lady carried our bags upstairs and made us drinks with chocolates when we came in after dinner. Cosy room and best beds ever!!! Bathroom cold and a bit old fashioned looking. Needs renovating. We ate at Sauda in the town as the restaurant wasn’t open. It was very nice. Good breakfast. Lots of parking."

"Unbelievable views and tranquil location. We had a family room with bunkbeds, as well as two other beds and it was so spacious. My favourite part of the guest house was the great room, somewhere you can relax watch TV and have breakfast. The owners are incredibly hospitable and very responsive to our queries. We highly recommend this guest house for travels in northern Iceland."

"The room and facility was fine, but this small town has very little to offer. We chose Hofsos because of the Sundlaug pool and hot baths, but they were mostly closed for maintenance. "

"Property was probably dorm rooms. It wasn’t terrible. We didn’t really have occasion to interact with staff. We stayed one night on our loop around Iceland. The town doesn’t have much by way of restaurants. Keep expectations basic. "
