"This was an excellent last minute value stay after previous lodging plans suddenly changed. The place is a bit dated and some areas could definitely use a deep clean, but there were some little things I noticed that made the overall stay well worth the price.
I don’t normally write reviews but this place deserved one as it seemed to be owned/operated locally vs. being a corporate chain. For the most part, the basics were all covered. The bed was comfy, the sheets were clean and super soft. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, warm and steady; no random sprays, leaks, or sad dribbles. I thought the soap, shampoo and conditioner were good quality and didn’t feel as cheap or watered down as other popular hotel chains we’ve stayed at.
The breakfast offering has to be one of the best things about this place. For one, they use real eggs (cooked over hard, not scrambled), not the premixed liquid or powdered egg products we’ve had elsewhere. The fried potatoes (diced) were breaded w some sort of seasoning that was delicious! They also had fresh fruit (bananas/apples) and Activia yogurt, which has live cultures of beneficial bacteria. I noticed this small difference after staying at a major hotel chain the night before and was disappointed to learn their yogurt didn’t contain any live cultures in the ingredients. They also had fresh bagels, strong & tasty coffee, and other usual breakfast items. To me, it was the little differences that made this place better than others."
