"Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but the first night was very frustrating. When I arrived, the hotel did not have the room I had booked. As a solo traveler, I reserved a standard non-smoking room with a king or queen bed due to asthma, which was very important to me. Instead, I was placed in a family suite far from the lobby. Staff called it an “upgrade,” but it was not— the furniture and TV were very dated, and the room was located near the lounge/club, where smoke and loud music carried into the room. When I returned to request a change, I was told the hotel was fully booked due to Eid. I explained that I had a paid reservation made in advance to secure my room, so being fully booked did not address the issue. Staff then promised to call me the next day once a room became available. I arrived late, around 11:30 PM after an international flight, and had no choice but to stay in the room. I was exhausted and did not sleep well due to noise, smoke, and discomfort. The next morning, I noticed the room was also not properly cleaned, with visible dust and dirt in areas. I never received the promised call and had to return to the lobby, where new staff had no record of my issue. After explaining everything again, I was finally provided with a suitable room that matched my original booking. While the rest of my stay was enjoyable, the lack of communication, poor handling of my reservation, and unacceptable first-night experience made for a disappointing start."

"First room wreaked of paint. Second room had a broken, noisy extractor fan in the bathroom. Third room was ok even though the TV wasn’t level. Restaurant prices are different to the ones advertised on their website. Constant banging from maintenance work. ‘Local spirits’ aren’t great and seem watered down. Ironing board and iron took over an hour to get to my room. Had to wait 15 minutes for a coffee in the messy cafe that attracts the birds. Food is good and the restaurant staff are pleasant but this isn’t a 5 star hotel."

"That was one of the worst experiences ever. First, they gave me a room with a gross smell, which they quickly changed to another one that was okay, but the bathroom plumbing was all messed up. The rooftop had tennis and pool tables, which is fine, but the guests were so loud until 2 AM that I couldn't sleep. It was only one night, so I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. I tried the breakfast since I missed it because of the late-night noise."
