"Adequate hotel - conveniently located in the centre of Winchester. About 15 min walk from the train station. The bus station is about 5 min away. Lot of good restaurants around especially if you like Nepalese food.The hotel will store your luggage for you if you ask them to. The only thing I didn't like was the pattern on the carpet on the first floor corridor - almost like a route map for robot vacuum cleaners to follow."

The bad: Probably my incorrect expectations but was expecting room AC for a 4* The ugly: Brave the unlit path, if you dare, to get to the Chineham shopping centre. No fault of the hotel but Hampshire County Council should sort this out as its an accident waiting to happen! "

"The hotel was ok. We booked an executive double room, areas of it could do with updating the sofa was very hard and stained. We were on tbe ground floor but we’rel left with no choice but to sleep with the patio door open as the heating was blasting out. The Spa is in need of some serious attention, the Jacuzzi has clearly been out of action for months, and it doesn’t look like anything is going to be done about fixing it any time soon. The changing rooms are in need of a deep clean and tbe chairs in the spa reception are all in need of replacement as all have ripped upholstery. One evening we went to the bar the glasses we were given were dirty (both had visible lipstick marks) breakfast was adequate for the price, but fairly basic. "

"The breakfast was very good for buffet with cooked options. It’s well located for Winchester but not a hotel with charming views and paying for parking on top of room charges needs looking at. Why not make it inclusive ? A fridge in the room and capsule coffee maker would be more useful than a safe. "

The facilities are high quality, with an elegant feel without being dated. Food was good in both restaurants, as was breakfast. The spa was very relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful. "

All the people that work there are lovely, the room was excellent, and the good reasonably priced and very nice. Salisbury isn't too far from us, and since we enjoy the antique shops, I can see us staying here again."
