After checking in, I made it to my room to see the countertops were NOT clean, the fridge wasn’t working and a missing remote. Tried to call down to the desk, and the phone didn’t work either. Went back downstairs to let the woman at the desk know (her demeanor and attitude were very unpleasant), and it was in the middle of a shift change for the front desk. The man then escorted me to the new room to review it with me. Things seemed to be working fine, but again it wasn’t cleaned. I asked for housekeeping to which the man said and I quote”this ain’t a 5star hotel, it’s maybe a 2 or 3 star, there’s one person on this shift and that’s me. Housekeeping will be back in the morning.” Now although I don’t recall inquiring on the hotel’s star rating, I was entirely too exhausted after a 12 hour drive from Chicago to argue with this man. I then asked for just some cleaning supplies and I’ll do it myself, he then said “that’s housekeeping too and I don’t have access to their storage.” It’s now a little after midnight, after I’ve retrieved my belongings from the first room, moved down to the second room and returned the first room’s keys to the desk. I then had the displeasure of finding out that the bathroom sink (in the new room) was stopped up with an extremely slow drain. I wish this was something I made up. I can’t verbalize how disheartening and unpleasant my stay was at this establishment. Never again.
