"This is a very simple, low budget hotel, but I had a wonderful experience here. Everyone, from the cleaners, to the front desk staff, to management, was incredibly helpful and warm. The Manager, in particular, was especially helpful and warm. At the last minute, he arranged a driver/guide for me to tour Gaur and Adina. During the tour, he called me to make sure that everything was going well! When I tried to offer a commission on the tour, he refused. Malda is not a very tourist oriented town; the infrastructure is poor, and they are not used to foreign visitors at least in the rainy season. That being the case, it makes a huge difference when the hotel staff really take care of the guests. I strongly recommend this hotel."
"We recently (Feb, 2026) had an enjoyable trip to Murshidabad and a very pleasant couple of days’ stay at hotel Lake Palace. Operating just over a year, the hotel is in nice condition and good value for the price. The food at the hotel restaurant was absolutely delicious and we had a wonderful dining experience during our stay.
The particular aspect of the hotel that stood out for us was the exceptional, personalised, warm service extended by the staff all along during our stay. All staff that we met/ interacted with — be it the security person at the gate, staff at front desk/ driver/ housekeeping/ restaurant — everybody was rather polite, always helpful and ready to go the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. Whilst we gratefully appreciate great customer service from all staff, we would like to specially acknowledge the outstanding support of Palash Debnath (who not only drove us around the town, but took great care of our comfort and needs during the entire trip), Subhashish at reception, Tanmoy (?) and Rafiq at restaurant and many more behind the scenes — many thanks to all of you."
"The staff was incredibly cordial, helpful and courteous. It really made a difference. Additionally, every single food item we had at the palace restaurant was absolutely delicious. Our time flew by at the palace and on the day of departure we were left wishing we’d stayed 2 nights at the palace. "
