"We arrived there and they were dirty sinks, bugs on the floor. The whole hotel open to the street in Brazil which is not safe. The only way to cool down would be to throw open all the windows and doors which would definitely not feel safe. We did not stay there. The hotel was relatively empty and we had not taken away the chance of anyone else to book a room. We asked for a refund through the hotel and through hotels.com and it was very difficult to communicate with them, a lot of mixed messages. They at one point approved a refund and then denied a refund to hotels.com and then told us they would give us 50% back. Eventually finally they approved a full refund again."
