"Beautiful location. Very cheap accommodations. Not as advertised. Rooms were terrible. Bathrooms were clogged and no one could fix them. Food was bad. It’s like management has given up on the place. I would visit for a day but not spend the night. We paid $360 EUROS for this place and I feel so ripped Off!! "

A historic hotel gives guests the chance to stay in a place that's been officially recognised with a historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world can be castles, palaces, grand homes or even old police stations, pubs, lodges or skyscrapers — any place of special interest. These types of hotels in Kalypso typically preserve authentic elements like traditional architecture and period features in guestrooms or communal spaces.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
The two are similar. The term "historic hotel" is more common in the U.S., while you'll often hear "heritage hotel" in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to place more significance on the building and architecture itself. A heritage hotel draws meaning mainly from the cultural value that the place has and how it shaped the community.
Do historic hotels in Kalypso have modern facilities?
Yes. Every effort is made to preserve historic facades and treasured traditions, while interiors have safety features and modern conveniences. Guests can expect the usual amenities from a contemporary hotel such as private rooms with updated bathroom facilities, heating and air conditioning, and free and fast Internet. In Kalypso, booking a historic hotel doesn't mean you're picking a place that's rundown or uncomfortable for guests.
