It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. Wonderful hosts. Friendly and very helpful with providing information and guidance about kandy and the surrounding area. Owner recommended the rooftop restaurant for evening dinner, stunning 14 authentic Sri Lankan dishes cooked to perfection by far the best meal we have had all trip. If you are looking for a home stay style guest house with amazing food and wonderful hosts at a very affordable price then this is for you

Room was spacious and good. They did not care about the guests or checkin or check out. The owner was zoned out and did not care for our questions. I thanked him and he didn’t even look at me or say anything.

In room was only sheets in the bed. Bring everything with you, also toiletpaper. One morning breakfast was 1,5hours late. Not possible to do laundry. And there were cockroachies in the bathroom.
