"This was our first hotel experience as a couple, as we normally hire a villa, car and fend for ourselves. However, family tragedies dictated that we needed to escape and be “looked after” in order to de-stress, rest and recharge our batteries after six weeks of heartache. The receptionist (South African not New Zealand) makes things happen, excels in her role, professional from the outset. We did feel a little disappointed the pool was within the hotel rather than facing out to sea. It gave the impression the hotel could be anywhere. Visitors need to be aware of the construction work below of a new, very large hotel. Only the roofs are visible fortunately, but there is some noise if you go to the nearest small beach.
