"The host, Emin, is a warm and welcoming person, who took time to explain the history of the house, a 250 year-old listed building, and some of the original features. The room was spacious, and even though the night was chilly, it was warm inside, thanks to the 80cm thick stonewalls and wooden interior. There is also a lovely open area for sitting upstairs. Our breakfast, prepared by Emin's wife featured olives olives from the family's own grove; her home-made sour cherry jam (the best); and home made halva (helva). The family has been in the halva-making business for many generations; the name of the house is a reflection of that. The location is handy for visiting the ancient city of Aphrodisius, and there are plenty of restaurants within a 5 minute walk (the local pida is well known). Highly recommended for those who are looking for a more personal experience, rather than a hotel."
