"Lovely little Inn. A last minute booking, found the staff very warm and accommodating. Room was large and spacious. Very clean. Lovely bathroom. All the usually amenities. Fab continental breakfast selection brought to the room at a time of our choosing. Cant find any fault. "

"A five star property and staff — some of the best food we’ve ever had traveling, and here it is in the Yorkshire Dales! Friendly, helpful staff to a person, every shift, every position. The historic manor house buildings are beautiful, tastefully updated to allow a glass-walled dining wing that looks out over the rolling green hills. It’s a stunning setting. The bedroom is the only shortcoming. Peer facilities might offer visitors pillows of various stiffness to accommodate different sleepers’ preferences. Stone House provides two different pillow textures — granite and oak. I exaggerate only a little. They have the hardest, least comfortable pillows of any facility we’ve ever visited. Sleep was rocky, in a word. The mattress is sub-par, and the double bed too small for the price (the room could allow a Queen or King). The bathroom light is a terrible cold white color. Someone should visit similar places and compare their bedroom facilities to what’s offered at Stone House, and bring those bedrooms up to the superb quality of the dining, staff, and environment. "
