We stayed here for 7 nights during the latter part of August 2021. This was our second consecutive year of holidaying at the beautiful Lake District. The factors that attracted us to this guest house was its competitive price and proximity to the Lake District. We found Lyndhurst Guest House neat and tidy. The landlady, Yvonne, is a bit of a character – never too busy for a chat on almost any subject. She works extremely hard to maintain her standards. We weren't sure what to expect, as this was our first stay at a guest house. Yvonne made us very welcome from the moment we met her (after waking up on the first morning) and was always a text message or phone call away if we needed anything. She truly went the extra mile in looking after us, and truly made us feel like we were at home during our week-long stay there. It was a big contrast to our previous year's experience, when we stayed at an inn at the opposite end of the Lake District. The location (Kendal town) was ideal, as we could drive off and enter the Lake District within minutes each day and spend the entire day exploring and enjoying the many beauty spots that the Lake District has to offer.
The only downside – to be fair and honest to fellow holidaymakers reading this review – is that there is no on-site parking. You have to look for parking in the streets around the guest house. However, during our 7 nights, when, per our habit during these particular holidays, we returned to base late, we always found parking
