Blackstairs Shepherds Huts

"We had an amazing time,the surroundings are just incredible,so beautiful and peaceful.My family really enjoyed the barn and we played board games,lit a fire which was fabulous.The option to BBQ also.We had such fun.Our huts were just gorgeous,everything was spotlessly clean,the bed was so comfortable and the bedding was to a very high standard.We took a stroll through the meadow and had a turn in the paddle boat on the the water on the grounds,so much fun.The hosts really take great care of this magical piece of Ireland,lots of thought goes into the guests stay and the eco system which is beyond compare for me.The food provided was delicious... a real feast for the eyes and the tastebuds,astounding efforts went into this we felt really well taken care of,but above all else was our wonderful host Mary..what an incredible woman she is! Mary has a wonderful warm and friendly personality,we felt like we were friends rather than guests,she was so welcoming and informative of the surroundings and all the place had to offer,Mary and her team do a really great job with the huts,the barn the gardening is all done to such a high standard,and you can feel the love here.Many thanks for a wonderful stay and your homemade food is fantastic!!!"

"Really loved this hotel, facilities were perfect for the whole family, the dome was excellent to entertain the kids & food was top class. Kids are already asking to go back. I’d like to mention the night porter who was lovely & so helpful getting me a taxi so early in the morning 10/10"

"Had a wonderful stay here beautiful hotel. Lovely bedroom comfy bed beautiful bathroom. Staff were fantastic, food was delicious, didn’t get time to use the spa, so maybe next time ! Very well maintained hotel and has lovely lounging areas to chill and relax. The hotel is close to Altamont gardens and Huntington castle and gardens would highly recommend making a trip to both of these places they are absolutely beautiful!!"
Woodford Dolmen Hotel

"Very warm and inviting hotel. Check in was very smooth. Outside the hotel has a cute little island with a bridge to walk around. The room were a good size and clean they left cute little rubber ducks on the bed. The bathroom was OK decent water pressure. No place to put your toiletries and not enough hooks to hang towels Unfortunately there was a wedding going on and I finally went to the front desk at 1:30am to complain. The music was blasting no one could sleep. All they said was we are sorry and don’t the hotel inform you there was a wedding tonight. Answer: no they did not. We had to listen to the music blasting until 2am. It was painful. Afterwards and read a bunch of reviews that all complained about the same issue. Wedding going on and music blasting. If you want to get a decent night sleep ..this is not the hotel for you. They did nothing to try to help make my stay better. Being told they are sorry didn’t cut it. Maybe offer a complimentary breakfast or something would have helped. But they did nothing. I definitely will never be back and I certainly will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. Poor customer service actually zero customer service"
