"We stayed on Thursday and Friday 9th to11th April. The receptionist described our room as deluxe, it was more like bijou, in other words small. Staff were very friendly. The bar wasn’t individually manned, and there was no night staff on site. In our opinion, this gave the premises the impression of a B and B pretending to be an hotel . Parking was easy, and cooked breakfasts were lovely. Location was great . If The Drake wants to be more like an hotel it should employ full time bar staff ( get in draught beers) and have on site night staff."

"Supererior double. Lovely room and super comfy bed. Good bathroom. Breakfast was lovely,hot and fresh and served nicely. Nice robes in the room and also iron and board. Added bonus was a bath. Will definitely stay again but maybe ask for a rear room as was lots of noise from traffic even with windows closed. Also think it's a bit unfair to charge for onsite parking. "

"Hotel reception wasn’t well signed. Rooms were clean, but corridors were quite dirty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Main restaurant wasn’t available so had to eat in a stark feeling cafe area which wasn’t so nice. The staff were very accommodating regarding allergy issues. The steak wasn’t very good. Breakfast in the restaurant area was nice. Again staff were attentive."
