"We had a wonderful stay at Toby's! It is very conveniently located close to the airport and within walking distance to the Hip Strip and Doctor's Cave Beach, the staff and other guests were kind and friendly, their restaurant's food was solid, and the AC worked well! We were also pleased that our room had a little deck with two chairs where we could read, look at the flowers, dry clothes, etc.
The property is charming and has two warm saltwater pools, two bars (one in the restaurant and one by the larger pool), and a small room with gym equipment. Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable enough.
We were glad to support a local family-owned property and the price was right!
Keep in mind that the island is still recovering from the hurricane. Also, Toby's is not a luxury resort (it's not pretending it is or advertising as such). The furniture is dated, the pools show wear and tear, some nice-to-haves (like a mini fridge in the room) don't exist, our floors weren't super clean. Also, quiet hours were somewhat respected but the walls are thin and we could hear a lot later at night and early in the morning. All that said, we really enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time!
