"The cabin is great and quiet w/ a great view on the surrounding mountains (hence the “good” overall score).
However a few points of disappointment which need to be improved:
1- We met 2 staff members and both barely spoke English, although the check-in instructions (Dan Center) said that staff can speak Norwegian, English and German. The 1st person was friendly though and showed us the cabin.
2- More problematic: there are unclear/hidden fees not documented on Expedia web site nor on the specific check-in instructions we received from Dan Center: linens, towels. For the electricity, the 2nd person we met asked us to pay an amount not at all in line with what is documented on Expedia web site (0.15 Euro/kWh). Also we were very careful to turn off the lights and the heaters at night and during the day when we were not there. When I asked the 2nd person for an explanation for the electricity fee, he was not able to explain it to me in English and I didn’t have time to go through a Google Translate conversation. And he asked us to pay in cash, although the specific check-in instructions said we could pay any incidentals by credit card.
So at the very minimum Expedia needs to clearly document these various fees (linens, towels, electricity) for this property to avoid any bad surprise afterwards."
"The room was clean, small bathroom with no power outlets in the bathroom. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was as expected, the cooked items were barely warm."
"This was our favorite stay of our 2 weeks in Norway. Stunning scenery!!! Plenty of space. Stylistic touches that amplified our Norwegian experience. Muri didn’t speak a lot of English, but was able to convey what we needed to know. There was a small cash fee for their bedding/towels (160NOK per person). Close to groceries and Loen hiking & climbing. "
