"In the morning of the day of check-in, we got a message from this hotel telling us they are undergoing “construction” and don’t know what when will finish. Said they had put us in their sister hotel - Koh Ma Resort - “which is more expensive” They give us no choice at that point, as we cannot cancel on the day of check-in. The gardens are well kept, and it's peaceful, yet so close to the centre of town. "I normally live in China. I happened to be in Europe when i was planning my stay here. My wife in Shanghai. Within a few days of booking the hotel the corona virus problem hit. I could not fly to China to get my wife, my wife could not leave Shanghai. I pleaded with this hotel and with Hotels.com/Expedia to cancel my reservation but they refused. Unacceptable behaviour. "
