"Great location far enough away from Mirissa. Peaceful and welcoming staff. Difficult to find a spot to swim in the ocean but possible to take a dip. Hotel pool wasn’t cleaned early enough for us to swim one morning (not open until after 8). Sri Lankan brekkie available as well as eggs and Gandon’s style, serving sizes were very generous. "

"I left my heart in Talalla Retreat. Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings. The food was incredible. I felt super safe. I didn’t want to leave. A must visit - and please do as the Sri Lankan people need visitors right now. "

It’s up a hill, which is quite a walk or you can take the elevator, which is very slow. However the staff were very good and extremely helpful. "

"This hotel was fabulous. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We stayed in a standard room and it was very pleasant. There was a double bed with a large mosquito net covering it. The air con worked well. The breakfast was varied and tasty. The pool was warm and refreshing. The beach is a couple of minutes down the road, look for the sign to 'secret beach'. There's beautiful views here and lots of places to eat. The best thing was the monkeys who kept popping into the garden and sometimes...

"Overall, this hotel is very average. There were a few positive and negatives. I’ll start with the positives. After asking for water and toiletries, they were eventually provided. They let me shower after checkout and stored my bag, which was nice! The room is very average, but there was a gap above the door that didn’t shut all the way which let bugs in at night. The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms were gorgeous and comfortable, and the location couldn’t be better- right on the beach and just a short walk to Coconut Tree Hill, Parrot Rock, and plenty of dining options. "Had a lovely stay here for 3 nights. The lady who runs it is lovely and very helpful and friendly. I took the option for breakfast and there is a selection to choose from, i was always full after. The room was a good size and very clean with little touches that make the stay nicer, toiletries, nice towels, air fresher, a little flower and mosquito repellant.
