"I was disappointed with the location being that there was absolutely nothing close to hotel. It felt like a run down old resort. People e were friendly even allowed early check-in but the tourists were pushy and people were smoking in their rooms, I could smell it in mine and partied until well after 11:30 PM. In its hay day might have been a cool vacation spot, but that is long gone. "

"Kids loved the bath tub and two floor suite that we booked. Location was ok and we didn’t try their breakfast. Overall good but the only thing that was a bit uncomfortable was that the Parking overnight was too far with incomplete instructions for the customers traveling from outside Portugal. "

"Complete absence of service or hospitality. I will be asking for a refund. Service? Nope Front desk open 3-7pm. 24 hours, 3 different contacts…? Nope. I called no less than 15 times to each of the 3 proffered contact numbers when locked out of my room- no answer or call rejected. One of the numbers- on the official property literature and signs outside reception- actually said to me: “ I have nothing to do with this hotel. I have no idea why my number is there!” After an hour of standing out in the cold- exhaisted from a day of walking and trying desperately to get thru to someone, a young woman called back to say she’d been “teaching yoga and had her phone turned off…” after all of that, it took the front desk manager 20 hours to contact me. His response? “I’m Sorry, I fell into a really really deep sleep” Next morning- no staff but an incredibly Surly girl in a restaurant who looked at us with disdain when we eyed the breakfast buffet. We were told that we weren’t welcome for breakfast, but she could make us coffee- which she charged for. When we asked where we Could leave our bags for luggage service she responded with an “I don’t Know” and Gave us another dirty look. Dreadful Service!! Not just bad but absolutely terrible. Advertised Jacuzzi? nope. “It’s 3000 liters. We cannot heat it for so few people” Restaurant? Nope- closed Mondays. Pilgrims massage? Nope, not available. Wine? Nope- even though there was a very extensive cellar on view meters away. Beware! "

"Everything about this hotel shines. The ambiance of the historic building is stunning. We loved the delicious and extensive breakfast and the sparkling rooms and lobby. The location was exceptional for visiting Braga’s old city. Thank you for a memorable stay!"

"B&B Hotel Viana do Castelo is conveniently located near the river. Making it ideal to walk and explore around the beautiful town. The proximity to shops and restaurants was a plus for us. Despite the room not being very spacious, the bathroom was nice and the walk in shower was a pleasure to step into. The water pressure was superb! We enjoyed our one night stay."
