Affordable traditional accommodation
For the price, we appreciated the rustic ambience and easy walking distance to the various facilities in the village. We stayed in the first floor, two bedroom apartment with a spacious terrace.
We felt that the place needs some care and attention as it is rather “tired”. Hot water is lacking and not always available. The kitchen is well equipped but without a gas supply for the cooker, recommend to confirm a cylinder is installed when checking in. Also, suggest you bring a host of adapters if you have non-uk devices.
Anyway none of the above bothered us too much to warrant making a fuss.
This was a very disappointing experience for my partner and I and our 8 month old baby:
No hot water at times - sometimes not enough for both of us to shower. Water was rarely hot and usually only warm. Not warm enough to do effective dish washing.
Flat wasn't clean enough. On arrival, soles of feet were black on walking a few minutes in kitchen. They got a cleaner in to mop floor, and cleaning was provided every 4 days, but flat not clean enough. Cobwebs everywhere, rugs on floor full of fluff (not hoovered) which our baby kept picking up, edges and corners of rooms filthy, dust everywhere.
Baby high chair was broken (was replaced).
Drawers/ cupboards full of junk so couldn't use some.
Cot mattress was too small for cot and too thin, so there was a large gap between mattress and cot, so our baby kept getting his arm caught and waking up screaming. Attitude from owner was poor, and we were left to swap cot/mattress ourselves with another from another room.
Night storage heater in bedroom did not work.
Shower dripped.Toilet flush too stiff.
Bed very uncomfortable - could feel springs. Sofa uncomfortable.
Television didn't work. When 2 elderly men came to replace it, the ordeal took an hour and a half and was like watching the chuckle brothers - they had no clue what they were doing. New TV only had Greek TV - not appropriate for holiday let.
Ant problem in last few days we were there. They came in through a hole in the tiles above kitchen sink and invaded our food.
Enjoyed staying here. The village is nice and quaint. Large enough to feel like you're living in a social environment and small enough for peace quiet and tranquility.
The house itself is beautiful. A lovely communal court yard that catches the sun at the right time of day. Nice historic rustic feel to the place. It can be easy to over hear other residents as the rooms are not sound proofed.
Ideal location from the main square just being a five minute walk away. Some historic sights to see around the area and easy access to the airport.
I will be staying here again.
Great location, close to all the major towns, and fifteen minute drive to the beach. Nice village with a choice of scenic restaurants and a marvelous village square.
