The check-in was frustrating. We (my wife and I) arrived one hour and a half early. We asked at the front desk if we could do an early check-in. We were issued two key cards and told we would be texted once the room was ready. We went to the pool to grab a beverage in the meantime and stayed there about one hour. We then received the text message that the room was ready and to enjoy our stay. We get to the hotel room and neither of the key cards worked. I stayed outside the room with all of our luggage and my wife went downstairs to the lobby to let them know the key cards weren't working. The front desk worker told her that the key cards we were issued were only good for the pool area and that after we received the text message, we needed to bring the cards to the lobby front desk to activate access for the hotel room. My wife asked the front desk person to activate access for the room. The front desk worker did not activate the room access because my wife's name was not on the reservation, even though we used my wife's credit card to pay for the reservation. The front desk person told my wife that she would need to call me to come to the lobby to request the activation myself. I come downstairs with all of our luggage and requested the access for our hotel room.
After that, we went back to the hotel room with all our luggage, tried using the two new key cards they gave us, and we were finally able to get into the hotel room. By then it was already 4pm.
