"1/4 elevators working while hosting a sold out dance competition. Waited 30 minutes each time I needed to use the elevator. Room had no refrigerator or microwave and was extremely outdated and not super clean. Bed was comfortable, staff was nice - but my room was not on par with what you'd expect from a Hilton & the out of service elevators are unacceptable."

"I was less than impressed with this stay. My friend and I had booked this hotel on Expedia because their description said it had shuttle service to the airport for free. Upon arrival to Newark international, we called to double check and the hotel said they don't offer that service at all, which made travel to the property unexpectedly expensive for us. We eventually got to the property but it was not well maintained. There were stains on the walls, caution tape by the elevator and our room was scary with how many dirty stains there were on the furniture. The bed springs squeaked with the slightest movement of the beds. The entire vent was hanging off the wall. I went down to the front desk to ensure they weren't going to charge my incidental for the appearance of the room. The staff was friendly and ensured me I wouldn't be since it seemed to be something maintenance failed to attend to. The facility claims it is nonsmoking but the hallway and room smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. As an asthmatic, that was troublesome. Overall, I will not be staying here again. Luckily, our layover was only 6 hours long so we were at the hotel for only 4 hours that night."

"⸻ I had a very disappointing and unacceptable experience at Sparkle Hotel Rahway. The first room I was assigned was clearly not cleaned—there was a blood stain on the toilet, what appeared to be pubic hair in the sink, and the beds did not look freshly made. I immediately reported this to the front desk and was moved to another room. Unfortunately, the second room was just as bad. The microwave was covered in fingerprints, the sink had visible dirt, and there was spilled juice on the countertop. On top of that, the room smelled strongly of smoke, which made it even more uncomfortable. When I brought these issues up again, I was told no cleaning staff was available at the time, and no manager was on-site to issue a refund. As a result, I was left sitting in the lobby trying to figure out a solution because I refused to stay in either unsanitary room. This level of cleanliness and lack of accountability is completely unacceptable. Guests should not have to deal with these conditions or be left without immediate support. I would not recommend staying here based on this experience."

"The hotel seems understaffed. We arrived late evening and there was no one at the front desk or bell stand. We had to wait about 5 minutes to find someone on staff to ask them to find the front desk person. The room was a little quirky due to the design of the hotel looking like a wave making the room shape oddly laid out. Our coffee maker did not work and the room as well. "

"The only thing I found lacking was that there is no guest laundry facility. Not a necessity, but definitely a nice-to-have amenity."
