Found the check in 5pm) and check out time (10am) gave not much time if on a B&b package...would have loved to use other amenities but no time... Outdoor pool was a little too hot and needed to be skimmed of bugs and plants... Food was faultless.....Lovely Staff were helpful... Lack of computer .linking up with other depts....as had booked a table in restaurant but when arrived they didnt know....room was clean ...a little warm but not unbearable....Beautiful setting...more sunbeds needed as couldnt find any spares to lay on....

Misleading check in time. Arrived three hours early to be told we could either sit in the coffee bar for the remaining time or pay £140 to have a glorified swim. The room was dated and in poor repair with paint peeling in places and lights taped up. The inclusive breakfast was delicious however, in the 40 minutes we were there the cooked breakfast was not offered and things we not topped up unless asked. Could be absolutely wonderful if it was handled by staff with better customer service.

Lovely hotel, staff were very attentive.great comfortable stay, breakfast buffet was exceptional. Wiuld definitely stay here again and try to make time to use the health club and spa facilities.

The staff and and services were exceptional and the spa facilities were very good - perfect for a day or two to unwind. I would also recommend having dinner at the in house resturaunt as the quality of food was amazing. Great for an overnight stay with a day spa add on for the next day - you get what you pay for

I had a lovely stay at Champney's Forest Mere. The site is stunning and the spa is impeccably clean. The only slight reservations I had were the food options could have been more varied and I wish they'd had a cold plunge. Apart from that, full marks.

The hotel is lovely, the spa is nice but some of the saunas were not very hot, and some oats were not working at all. It’s not a huge spa but was perfect after a day exploring. Wouldn’t necessarily spend all her day here but a couple evenings in the evening was great!

Birthday treat

Staff were excellent but overall stay was average. Rooms very dated & hotel could do with a make over ! Lots of water stains on the ceilings & everything could do with decorating. Some outside furniture was very ropey & needs replacing. The hotel grounds were amazing & very peaceful. Personally was really looking forward to staying at Champneys but definitely wouldn’t stay there again.

My boyfriend and I particularly loved the pools, and just the amount of things you could do at this hotel, it was such a lovely time. We stayed a night and we were able to use the pool, and other amenities as much as we liked with no extra charge, as it was just a night. The staff were super attentive and very kind and professional too ;) I must say a room that definitely stood out to us was the piano room, with the grand piano, a big checkers and chess game, and huge windows overlooking the pond. If you’ve watched the vampire diaries before, it was giving that vibe. It was darkly lit and had painting of dogs everywhere which was perfect ;) Overall had such a good stay at Champneys and we’ll for sure be back !!

Champney’s showing guests that it’s on its knees !

Champney’s really need to start investing into their hotels Tired worn out rooms ,and pathways , generally cost. Cutting on the little things breakfast cheap n cheerful premier inn does a better job ! Staff wonderful spa pools were nice but would I rush back no !

I was worried after reading some of the recent reviews, but we had a great time and wish we had 2 nights there. The setting is gorgeous on the lovely lake, loved the food at dinner, it was really tasty & healthy , we had a really spacious room. The decor is old fashioned and the bathroom needs updating but most old English hotels are. Breakfast was terrible & very slow but we enjoyed everything else. The spa is lovely but was very busy until after 5. in the evening There was a brilliant pianist playing in the lounge area which was nice.

My stay at Champneys was better than I could have hoped for. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional at all times. The facilities were clean and offering plenty of areas to choose from to unwind. Me and my Daughter had the most relaxing time together moving round the different jacuzzis and loungers. The spa is decorative to completely relax you as soon as you enter with its rain forest feel. The hotel room felt luxurious, clean and peaceful. Highly recommend Champneys Mere forest hotel to anyone who needs a pamper or complete relaxation. Did us the world of good. On leaving we walked around the beautiful lake. We will be coming back. Enjoy 😊

Was calling the hotel for hours - no answer. Doors locked on arrival. Check in was terrible with miserable staff member who looked like he was asleep. Nothing special about the stay or room. Felt very run down and disappointing. The breakfast was nice. So was the waitress.

The property is set in the most idyllic settings,the lake is stunning.Property from the outside is stately absolutely stunning.The staff on arriving was obviously not a people person whilst other members of staff couldn't do enough.Our room was pleasant but other areas needed attention.The whole property smells devine but stained carpets really wasnt pleasent..

Spa was really good but the rooms was a disappointment in the fact we had two single beds pushed together with separate bedding so our romantic weekend was not so. Breakfast we was left standing around for ten minutes waiting to be seated and then had to go find a waiter/waitress to take our order. Wasn’t very smooth.
