Nestled along the Ammonoosuc River, this charming New England town invites visitors to stroll its historic Main Street lined with local shops. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore nearby White Mountain trails or catch a classic film at the beautifully restored Opera House during all seasons.
A very pleasant hike up Parker Mountain started just a few blocks from Main Street. Behind the hotel flowed the Ammonoosuc River with exposed flat rock perfect for taking a cooling dip after our hike. Loved it

Great base for a hiking in the area - plenty of dining options, lovely river (and you can go for a dip), and shopping. There is a breakfast place that opens at 6:30am.

Really nice town but be warned that they roll the sidewalks up EARLY!! Most places close by 5pm or 6pm and are not open on Mondays. Wonderful quaint town.
