I have to give this boutique hotel a five-star rating not because it is exceptional in service, but in value and location. The building is very nice, but the walls are a little thin. The decor is welcoming and, in my opinion, it emanates a minimalist, but chic feel that made me feel like I was staying in a high-class establishment. But, let's face the reality here, I reserved this place, despite the so-so reviews, because I wanted to stay downtown for cheap. The service was minimal, but the location is unbeatable and the value is unsurpassed! I have stayed in many places for this type of low-low price over the years and never have I had such a great location. It beats a cheap motel! The room was cozy and comfortable. It was romantic enough for me and my boyfriend. Sure, we've stayed in better but never for this price! The breakfast was skimpy, so we just snacked in the morning, grabbed a coffee and went out to eat. Look, for what I paid, I really can't complain much. When I reserve a hotel for that price, I expect it to be rundown and on the city's fringe. Instead, it is very comfortable and welcoming and classy. We were able to access the metro station on foot, take a nice long walk in the Mount Royal Park and enjoy the clubbing scene on Crescent. We never had to get back in our car! Everything was right there and that was exceptional. Most downtown hotels are double the price. I highly recommend staying here if you want to save money and be right in downtown Montreal!
