My wife and I was unaware that this property is closing down at this week end. Very little attention was paid to the shower room and toilets, We found it extremely to sleep actually dozing off at intervals of 10 - 15 minutes. Please do not recommend any type of this accommodation in the future though we understand that it was cheap. Disgusted Mr & Mrs Ford

Would not recommend this place. Very run down and basic. Breakfast not great. And bar area not at all comfortable for a quite drink.

DISAPPOINTING STAY FOR 2 NIGHTS.

VERY AVERAGE ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE . LOCATION GOOD ,Cleanliness not up to level required,as one pillowcase had not been changed! Bed otherwise fairly comfortable but breakfast not good enough, not well cooked the English breakfast!

Horrible place don’t know how hotels.com can sell these places Room was disgusting the milk they had in room was off , music blasting out all nite ,shower was mouldy and falling to bits I know was only £55 for the nite but expected a nites sleep and be able to have a coffee

Calidad /precio insuperable

Llegamos muy tarde debido a el horario de nuestro vuelo, y aún pasadas más de dos horas de cierre del check in,nos esperaron y derrochando amabilidad, cosa que no faltó durante toda nuestra estancia. Las instalaciones son correctas para el precio, aunque el colchón de nuestra cama, necesitaba ya la jubilación, pero para el tiempo que estuvimos, hacía su labor. Limpieza correcta, buen desayuno, y una terraza donde poder tomar unas pintas del pub. Reseñable su ubicación, muy cerca de todo por metro y por bus, además de ser un barrio muy tranquilo. Lo dicho, un sitio más que correcto para pasar un fin de semana en Londres a un precio muy razonable, y disfrutar de la increíble amabilidad del personal, que se desviven por ayudar en todo lo posible. Un saludo muy grande para Franco, Moisés y Daniel, en nuestro próximo viaje, volveremos allí.

ABsolutely nothing like the photos. VERY rundown.

Had to wait 30 minutes before they would open a side door to let mein. Then was expected to show my passport to prove I was who I am - person on the door didn't understand it is not a requirement in the UK to carry photo ID! No hot water on my floor. Lock broken on the shower-room the floor below. Fly spray instead of air freshener tells it all! You should avoid this place like the plague - you'll probably get it there!

Rooms above a pub; shabby and poorly maintained.

Friendly staff, though the place is a bit of a dive. It was clean, but clearly hadn't been maintained in years, with cracks in everything (where the light escaped). Basically ok, but emphasis on the basic. I like basic actually, but in this case was glad I wasn't staying there more than one night. I wouldn't return. On the plus side, the wifi was good! Only for those looking for somewhere cheap.

Erg leuk maar niet zo luxe voor dat geld.

Het is een prima buurt en lekker dichtbij de subway waardoor je overal snel bent. De service is goed en de eigenaar is erg vriendelijk. De kamer is netjes maar niet super luxe. Minpuntje is dat de badkamer en toilet gedeeld moet worden met meerdere kamers en niet erg schoon. Slippers meenemen dus! We hadden op de boekingsite gezien dat je onsite kunt parkeren maar dat viel tegen. Er is plek voor 2 auto's en aan de overkant kun je "gratis" parkeren. Dat wil zeggen dat wij er 3 dagen hebben geparkeerd zonder boete maar erg gerust was ik er niet op.... beetje onzeker of het ook echt mag. Onsite was het niet en daar word wel mee geadverteerd! Al met al hebben we er een leuke tijd gehad en ook de bar in het gebouw is erg gezellig! Frans ontbijt is aan te raden!

Bidende koldt !!!

Har efterhånden prøvet en del hoteller i London men det her var bestemt det dårligste! Værelset var sådan set meget rummeligt,ok senge men det var så også dét. Har aldrig oplevet SÅ koldt et værelse..bad om ekstra tæpper og at få skruet op for radiatoren..ingen a delene skete...sov i ekstra tøj..morgenmaden foregik nede i pub'en,sådan set helt ok,og også fint nok udvalg men også her var der isende koldt..skulle jeg ha overnattet mere end to nætter på det hotel,havde jeg nok fundet et andet . Der var fælles bad på gangen,helt ok..her var der så -selvfølgelig- også isende koldt og folk lod deres håndklæder ligge efter bad..så efter to dage lå der smidt 6-7 håndklæder på gulvet. Heldigvis havde vi taget vores med ind på værelset så de kunne bruges igen,for der blev hverken ordnet værelser eller skiftet håndklæder i de 3 dage vi var der. Men altså London er jo vidunderlig så vi brugte mere i gaderne end på hotellet..Dér kommer jeg nu nok ikke mere .

The best price in expensive London!

So glad to finally find it! It is a pub hotel experience with gentle music in the background as you sleep. Overall I give it a 5 out if 10. I'd stay there again!!

How did it get four stars?

I arrived to find the office with a Closed sign on the door. I asked in the bar and was asked to wait in a hallway. 15 minutes later I was given my room keys and left to find it myself. Apart from a reasonable breakfast I was. It impressed sorry.

Good lil' place run by lovely people

People that run Castle Bar are super lovely and helpful! Nr29 can get u into more central london, just outside. Rooms were clean and beds were made every day. Beds weren't the comfiest but to be honest we were far too tired to care when it came to sleeping We had a bit of a queue for the bathroom last day... But all in all it was a good stay!

2 day stay

People were nice including everyone. My only complain was that this place needs a makeover. Everything is old and needs rennovation. It looked more to me that I am staying at a friends house without paying anything than at a hotel. When fixed this is a great place.
