This is an epic spot in the forest that is indescribably beautiful. The hike in also passes by the Chattooga River at a very beautiful spot. All in all, the 5 mile round trip hike required to view Opossum Creek Falls is well worth it and highly recommended. This is one of the many short falls on the Tallulah River at the bottom of Tallulah Gorge. To reach this point you have to climb 400 steps to the bottom of the gorge, cross the river (not easy) and hike about a half mile. It's a rugged hike over boulders and rock faces. Not for the faint of heart!
