"The room is was a little dirty with fingernail clippings on the floor and used q tips left behind. Otherwise good. Maybe it was because we were in a pet friendly room but I wouldn’t walk on the carpets barefoot. The hotel itself hasn’t been updated in a while. The pool was out of towels both times we were down there. There is no slide, that was removed seemingly a while ago. The location is great and the service was also excellent. Everyone was very helpful. Didn’t eat at the restaurant but the coffee shop in the morning is convenient!"

"The historical and architectural features were beautiful. However, for a hotel of this caliber, the Housekeeping was dismal. Our first full day there, no one had come to clean the room by 4 PM, so I called the front desk and they told me they were all behind. Two hours later, knowing it’s still come, so I called and asked for towels at least. They did bring those. The next day I let them know that we weren’t thrilled that the housekeeper hadn’t come, and we had to clean the room light on the door. We got home at 5:30 in the evening and still no one had come to clean the room. I went down to the front desk and ask for a manager, and was told the manager was at lunch and they would call me when they returned. They never did, but about 6:30 PM. They sent a housekeeper to do the room. This is not something that I would expect when you pay this much for a hotel room and it is supposed to be a high caliber place to stay."

"Our room was clean. We have stayed here many times but this stay was disappointing. We weren’t able to get a first floor room in building where we usually stay, the food was not as good and over the past several years we saw a decline. We always loved staying there but this time it was way too busy. Not sure we will return"
