We loved staying at the Sovereign. It worked great for us, and was just a short walk to restaurants, the beach, the boardwalk and the Metro. It's in a neighborhood, so you totally feel comfortable walking around.

This is an absolutely gorgeous property. Very well situated for exploring Santa Monica and near all the amenities like beach, shopping restaurants, etc. Room is lovely and bed very comfortable and hotel is very quiet as well. The only slight problem we had was that we visited during an immense heatwave and the hotel has no air conditioning. It was okay for sleeping with the fans and windows open and I imagine this is a non issue any other time due to it's close proximity to the ocean. Loved that there was a kitchenette as well.

The Sovereign has won me over for all my future stays. The room was perfect with plenty of space and an ocean view. Not to mention the decor is perfect. Because it’s apartment style you will feel right at home. The windows stayed open and that ocean breeze was so refreshing, especially at night. If you’re traveling alone I highly recommend this place. It was safe, walkable to the beach, and other great places in the neighborhood. Santa Monica has such charming character & The Sovereign fits perfectly. You won’t be disappointed staying here.

Thank you, to The Sovereign Hotel for making my stay perfect. This is the second year in a row that I have stayed at The Sovereign and the staff, residents and community is so welcoming. The property is one block from the beach and is perfect; clean, homely, and safe. There is no other place I will stay when I am in LA. It is a small piece of home while travelling. Thank you to the team, and I highly recommend this hotel.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL experience at this hotel from the moment I arrived until the moment I left! Chris and Jen run this property and they are the kindest and most lovely people! My room was absolutely PERFECT… an extremely comfortable king size bed, a lovely small kitchen and a wonderful bathroom! The beautiful hotel is about 1.5 blocks away from the ocean… a beautiful ocean breeze was always flowing through the windows! The area this historic property is located in is a very lovely residential section of Santa Monica… very safe area to walk around! Really charming and wonderful hotel that has so much character and elegance! A special thank you to Chris, Jen and their girls for having welcomed me and treated me with such kindness! I highly recommend this wonderful place for anybody looking for a Wonderful hotel in Santa Monica. A++++++

Very clean, calm and peaceful. Very close to beach and only a short walk to pier, 3rd street promenade and restaurants. I did not have a car on this trip but was able to very easily get around by walking and uber on occasion. I felt very safe in the whole area around property.

Every time I stay at the Sovereign I am always impressed with the diligent customer service and communication with the team. Jen, Jill and Ryan are such gracious hosts and immediately respond to requests. The rooms are lovely and spacious, the grounds extremely well-kempt, and the proximity to the beach cannot be beat. I love sitting on the front patio, staring at the ocean through the trees. The constant breeze is both refreshing and soothing. Can’t wait to stay again on our next trip to Santa Monica!
