"The property is superb. Our room was superb. The staff were excellent. It’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Complete value for money. The only drawback was the idiot owner of the nightclub directly across the canal who was blasting out noise from the club at a demented level until 3am. It was so loud it vibrated the pillows beneath our heads whilst we tried to sleep. Apparently he does this every weekend. I asked why the hotel and local residents, it’s in an urban area that is otherwise very tranquil and sited just beneath the Cathedral Notre Dame of Verdun, hadn’t made complaints but the staff told me they had to no avail. I would hope in the UK a noise abatement order or closure of the club would have happened, but the noise spoiled what was an otherwise idyllic location and superb hotel."
"The Hotel St. Paul is in an excellent location. Sebastien, the manager, was extremely friendly and helpful (and his willingness and ability to communicate in English was much appreciated). The breakfast was excellent and very much worth the price. While the hotel is an older building, everything worked properly. Noise from the hallway and stairs is about the only negative. All in all, accommodations here are a good bargain."
"The accommodation was lovely and within walking distance of the main town. Our host was really kind and gave us a lovely breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend this place."
"Very clean and comfortable, with beautiful views of the river and fields.
There was some confusion with the check in process. We arrived right at the posted check in time and there was no one at reception and no one answered the phone number that was posted on the door. After about an hour, we almost gave up and found somewhere else to stay, but finally found another phone number on the website and got through to someone who then came and checked us in. I think we were supposed to let them know when we were arriving (it was in the off-season), but that wasn't very clear in the Expedia app."
