The property is approx 200 meters outside the small village with a private beach but the owners will pick you up at the ferry or at the exit from the Samaria gorge if you coordinate ahead of time. "Great place to stay to visit the area. We only stayed one night so we could visit the Samaria Gorge but wish we'd have been staying longer! The rooms have everything you need and the staff were very welcoming. The food was very tasty and we even went back for an evening meal after the Gorge!! The free transfers to the gorge are also really good. Definitely deserves more than 2 stars!!"

resort in the 1950s which appears to be the last time it was repaired. Still has great amenities like pools, scuba, food, yoga and entertainment but the rooms and facilities are pretty rundown and outdated. Still a good deal for the

stuff available if you can overlook that. "

We reached the hotel after our reservation driving 1 hour from Rethymno town and they did not even apologize for not having an available room for our reservation."

"Just come back from 10 days at Horizon Beach Hotel. The property was clean and appropriately fitted out for a three star hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of the resort. There are ample car parking space on-site. Overall I thought the Horizon Beach Hotel offered good value for money. "
